Raja Bhawal Sannyasi, drama serial based on a sensational case of the 1930s-1940s is now being telecasted on RTV Bangla. The 26-episode play revolves around the true story of Raja Mejokumar Rajendra Narayan Roy of Bhawal estate.The central character of the drama serial is the Zamindar of the Bhawal estate. Being a philanthropist, he is fondly known as Raja among his people. The story advances with the Raja falling prey to a conspiracy involving his own wife and the people believing him to be dead. The story then takes an unexpected turn when years later Raja returns to the estate as a Sannyasi.
Jayanta Chatterjee plays the protagonist. He is backed up by Moushumi, Manosh Benarjee, Shamu Chowdhury, Khairul Alam Shobuj, Momena Chowdhury and others.
